    Xavier Koenig

Xavier Koenig was born in Mauritius in 1985 and grew up in the Northern part of the island. Always fond of Nature, he spent much of his teenage years sailing across our lagoons on his windsurfer, a passion which sparked an interest for composite materials and fluid mechanics. He first studied Mechanical Engineering in Australia, where he worked in the mining and ship building industries until 2010, before his concerns for environmental issues compelled him towards sustainability studies in Sweden. He has since been a consultant and project manager, as well as a nature and sports photographer. He now lives in the West of Mauritius and is undertaking a PhD on Natural Capital Accounting at the Université des Mascareignes.
