    Loan Thi Hong Le

    Loan Thi Hong Le is the Managing Director of International Economics (Vietnam office) and is responsible for trade strategy and advisory work in the East Asia region at International Economics. She has been working on a range of projects exploring the nexus between trade and digitalisation in Southeast Asia and Africa. She was a team member on the ASEAN Digital Trade Connectivity Study. She supported the work of IEC in preparing a scoping study for the establishment of an EAC single regional digital market comprising, among others, the promotion of cybersecurity and data privacy for the development of the single data market component. She supported the development of an e-Payments blueprint for the facilitation of digital trade across Africa. In Indonesia, she worked on SMEs’ access to new markets through e-commerce. Loan contributed to the comparative analysis of different topics covered in free trade agreements, including reviewing digital trade commitments in the CTPPP, RCEP, and recent agreements signed by East Asian partners. Finally, she recently concluded a handbook on cybersecurity markets in ASEAN for the UK Government. Before joining the company, she worked at Baker & McKenzie. Loan holds a MA in International Trade Policy & Law and a BSc in International Business & Economics from the Foreign Trade University of Hanoi, in addition to an LLB from Hanoi Law University.
