Hudaa Neetoo
Hudaa Neetoo is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Mauritius. She holds a Masters and PhD degree in Food Science from the University of Delaware, U.S. and her areas of expertise are microbiology and food safety. Prior to joining academia, she worked as Microbiologist and Head of Laboratories in a seafood processing industry. At the University of Mauritius, Hudaa is involved in a variety of projects addressing issues of local importance including (i) food safety, quality and security, (ii) agricultural and environmental microbiology and (iii) climate change and its impacts on food safety. Hudaa wants to forge more interdisciplinary local and international collaborations on research projects but she also wants to maintain industrial ties. Hudaa hopes that her academic career will enable her to give back to the community through outreach activities, student mentoring and graduate empowerment programs.
